Three past guests from the AIIA podcast are speaking at IA Canada. We take a look at three sessions featuring those speakers and each person's AIIA podcast episode along with a key takeaway.

Let's take a look at three sessions of particular interest:

  • VENDOR SELECTION: CHOOSING THE RIGHT PARTNER TO BEGIN YOUR JOURNEY
    • Mathieu Rebeiro, Director Automation, Enterprise Operations, T&O, Royal Bank of Canada (RBC)
  • HOW SAFE ARE YOUR BOTS? SECURING THE ENTERPRISE WHILE SUCCESSFULLY AUTOMATING THE ENTERPRISE
    • Roderick Kaleho, Director Security & Risk, Cargill
  • ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGE MANAGEMENT
    • Nadia Devilla, VP, Head of Digital Transformation & Business Development, Manulife

And let's take a look at the each person's AIIA podcast episode along with a key takeaway:

Digital transformation

Episode 94: Nadia de Villa

"The way customers interact with a company has changed, and therefore, we need to be there and think differently and think beyond our financial services walls. So in terms of digital transformation, what that means to us, it's truly interacting with our customers through any digital channel they choose."

This one is pretty straigthforward. Start with the customer. Work backwards.

Security transformation

Episode 63: Roderick Koleho, Cargill

"Particularly in today's day in age where we have nation states creating malware or certain tools that they use to leverage the state level– the term is asymmetrical adversarialism. We've seen instances where those have not been contained, they've gotten out in the wild, they've been stolen from other nation states and different things like that. And then, for a variety of different purposes and intents, released into the wild in which has created a very difficult situation for an average organization to maintain a realistic defensive posture."

And so it goes– you're in cybersecurity. It's mandatory to protect your data which is in motion and to protect your data which is at rest. Artificial intelligence is built on your data. If your data has been compromised, who has access to your artificial intelligence and by definition, who can control your artificial intelligence?

Mindset transformation

Episode 20: Mathieu Rebeiro, RBC

"I'm often asked- isn’t lean six sigma old or something that’s passed? I’ll be presented with the fact that the new methodology is Agile or Waterfall or Design Thinking or RPA. It's not wrong to think that way…but it’s not right either. All of those are complimentary methodologies. And the challenge to the executive in question is are you ready willing and or able to explain how they all compliment each other? Rather than find what divides us, find the commonalities and work together on the job at hand. It’s not an "either or"…it’s an "and" conversation."

Said another way: It's not us vs. them. We are us.
